Hobart Harmony had the absolute pleasure of working with Cy Wood, who brought not only a touch of Broadway with him, but a whole lot of fun, emotion and connection with our music, helping us to find the "human" in our performance. Such a fabulous weekend, and so much that we can take forward into ALL our songs! Love you Cy!!

Making August A Cappella happen in Hobart! On Sunday 25th August, Hobart Harmony had it's first Quartet Club session. Led by Jenni, and with 26 participants, we were thrilled with the success of the day. Scratch quartets, tag quartets, "square" quartets; all focussing on our new regional song I Am Woman. Tonnes of fun in this glorious venue. The next one is scheduled for 6th October.

What a fantastic time we had at the 2019 Sweet Adelines Australia Convention here in Hobart again. We took 54 members on stage and wowed a full-house at Wrest Point with our competition set, getting our best-ever score once again! Congratulations to the organisers of this year's event - we had a wonderful time!

So much singing, so much fun! What a wonderful time we had working with the amazing Lynda Keever. Two days of small group work followed by a weekend of chorus coaching, with some fabulous results! We are all so excited with where our competition songs are up to now, and can't wait to share with everyone at competition in two weeks' time!! See you there!

What an amazing time we had with our international coach and diva extraordinaire, the one and only Nikki Blackmer, who trecked from Seattle to Hobart to spend 5 days with us. The two days of camp at Roches Beach were just incredible... coaching all day, and then a fun dinner and in-house show on the Saturday night, then another full day on Sunday before heading home and crashing. So much wonderful teaching, and so many things to practice, but WOW, what a sound! So exciting!!

This year Jenni (musical director), Cath (assistant MD) and Jane (assistant Baritone section leader) were treated to some wonderful education at the 2019 Directors' Training School in Sydney from 18-20th January. As well as having opportunity to be taught by the amazing Head of Voice from NIDA, Katarina Moraitis, there was fabulous eduation provided by the Regional Education Team. And, of course, there was no end of opportunity for networking and, of course, singing into the wee hours! Thanks so much to our Regional Management Team, specifically our Directors' Coordinator Kali and Education Coordinator, Lea, for an absolutely wonderful weekend! Can't wait for next year!!

A wonderful way to finish our year by welcoming in our 60th member! Welcome (again) Florence! We are all looking foward to a smashing 2019!
